AJ: What's up, everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be checking out this rubber tensioner for your tire chains. Now it's from Titan Chains. And it's going to go on your tire chains, excuse me, to help tighten them up. Without this.. I'll take it off and show you.
Without this, the chains hang on there loosely and you won't want to drive like that. And it's recommended that these styles of chains have these tensioners because of what I'm about to show you. So without the tensioner, you see how loose it is on there. You don't really want that while you're driving down the road. It could cause issues.
Maybe just even hitting your rims or something like that. You add this tensioner on here and this band pulls the chains towards the center and pulls them tighter across the tire all around. Now you can see that difference. I can barely move the chains on there now with all the tension.Now they come in a few different sizes. This one's for cars.
There's one for light trucks and heavy trucks. So make sure you get the right tensioner for the right chains. Now I'm going to compare it to another style of rubber adjuster. You can see that they're very different. This one has a metal ring in the center and it has six rubber arms that come out from there.
There's pros and cons of that. I like that the hook is attached on these so you can't take the hook off. And I like that there's six arms on this one. This would spread this out and make it more evenly if it just had one more of those clips.So it's not a big deal. It's not going to affect the way it works, but just looking at it I just would like this part to be hooked up there just for my own sake. But the other things is one of these arms can break. We use these a lot when we're doing tire chains. It probably won't happen to you. You won't use them and put them through as much as we do because we do lots of tire chains every day. But I've seen one of the arms snap before. So I don't know. I think this one might be better with that aspect over the longterm in the cold.But things you have to worry about is losing one of these clips because they can come off. And if you lose one, I don't know how easy it would be to find one of these at a hardware store or something like that. This is all included and attached like I said. So that's easier to just throw this in the back of your vehicle and have it all together rather than throw this back there. And then, you'll be missing pieces when you really need it. Although it does its job just fine and holds these chains nice and tight because you can't be going down the road with droopy chains. It's not going to be good for your vehicle or for your ride. Have not had a chance to use them yet, but they seem great.

These worked just fine all winter in the eastern Sierras.
I wanted TCMA2 tensioner with my order but for the 2nd time they were out of of stock. Had to settle for TCOA2 tensioner. Chains work great though. Quick shipping.
A vital addition. Loose chains cause way more damage to your truck then the cost of these things. Ask me how I know. Easy to throw on with gloves on and held up to alot of abuse.

great tire cable and very easy to install. Used them once last year but with the tremendous snow fall we've been having in the Sierras, I surely will be using the chains quite a bit more this season.
Purchasing product's from a company I've never done prior buisness with has always been a concern to me. With etrailer these concerns have been put to rest. The snow chains will be with me this winter during the late November hunting season high up in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. These chains are heavy duty top notch quality and I would rather have them handy and not need them than to need them and not have them, especially when nature decides to over night un-leash the full force of a winter storm blanketing the area in several feet of wind driven snow. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Travel prepaired! Oh, PS, I would again due buisness with etrailer.com, they have my vote.
Snow tire chains
I was shopping for tire chains on line, and when I discovered that eTrailer sold them, I simply put the order in. Heavy duty and rugged. I had to trim off some links to make them fit just right but but they fit my tires perfectly now and super snug. Only used them once but they worked great and easy to put on. I bought a second set for survival if a big storm hits.
Received order 2 days after ordering - excellent. Dry fitted chains to ensure they can fit tire and they go on with a little slack that the chain tensioners pick up with no issues. Do recommend anyone getting these for a 265-R70 16 get the tension bands or you will get a little chain slap. Overall very happy as I am going out for a medical and prepping everything at the house before winter so I will be able to heal.
Best chain adjusters out there. They hold tight and have lasted one winter so far. We are going into winter now and mountain pass travel is in my near future, I'll be carrying these religiously.

I ordered these rubber adjusters to complete the installation of a new set of chains for my vehicle. I really like the the way all of the tension is directed to the center of the wheel keeping the chain snug around the whole tire. I do recommend that you order 2 sets since they could be subject to damage being made of rubber.
I Just got my chains in on Friday, Have not used them yet. Only purchased to carry on my truck because DOT says I have to have them in order to enter North West IE: Colorado, Wyoming, Utah and so on. I deliver RV's and travel trailers to dealers all over the United States... I'm sure my Chains will work fine for what I need... I do intend on ordering more items for my truck in the future from etrailer... Thanks

The free shipping (UPS) was great. It got here in 3 days, delivered to my door with updates enroute. The product (tire chains) was exactly as advertised. They fit my vehicle without issue. I have yet to actually use the chains in the snow or mud, but considering the quality fit, I expect them to work as required.

These tensioners seem heavy duty and adding them to the tire chain order qualified the purchase for free shipping which would have cost twice what these did. Awesome customer service!!
